The Salmon People Public Screening Event in Seattle

The Society for Visual Anthropology welcomes A Presentation of the Salmon People Project in partnership with Children of the Setting Sun Productions. Together, we are hosting a free public screening and dialogue at the SIFF Cinema Egyptian in downtown Seattle, with the intention of broadening awareness, bridging partnerships, and building community through storytelling. We will discuss the decline of salmon and its impact on Indigenous identity, culture, foodways, and environment. Join us on November 10th, 2022, and become an ally to the powerful responsibility of protecting, restoring, and giving voice to the salmon and the Salmon People.

The event is supported by the American Anthropological Association (AAA), the Association of Indigenous Anthropologists (AIA), the Society for Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (SAFN), Culture and Agriculture (C&A), General Anthropology (GAD), and the Society for Humanistic Anthropology (SHA) and the Society for Visual Anthropology(SVA).
