An extraordinary old man, Dukkushyam Chitrakar, painter, composer, singer, is well loved in rural West Bengal as a poet and mystic of legendary proportions. Dukkushyam is a charismatic figure, one who departs from convention, most importantly in encouraging women to take up the traditional craft of scroll painting and musical composition, pursued exclusively by men before.
