8:40 AM Tracking Alewives for the Passamaquoddy, dir. Kurt Lancaster (5 mins)
Synopsis: 2.6 million alewives spawned in the St. Croix River, but was blocked by the state of Maine in 1995, resulting in a drop to 900 alwives by 2002, impacting the traditional foodways of the Passamaquoddy Tribe. In 2013, the state opened the fishway, allowing for the passage of alewife.
