Synopsis: Remembering Yayayi is a film about the early period of self-determination in a remote Australian Aboriginal community in 1974, based on archival footage and contemporary commentary from a woman whose father was the leader of the community. The film speaks to the qualities of life in remote communities that are now much contested in contemporary Australian policy
